THREE men escaped with a quantity of cash after an armed robbery at Wychbold Post Office this morning (Monday).

The trio – two black and one white, all wearing balaclavas – entered the premises on Worcester Road and held the staff up at knifepoint.

The victim sustained injuries to his head and hand and the raiders took the cash taken from the safe.

Det Sgt Lance Pritchard from West Mercia Police said officers were carrying out a number of enquiries following this incident and he urged anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.

“In particular, we would like to hear from anyone who saw the three men entering or leaving the post office or anyone who may have dash cam or CCTV footage from Worcester Road around 9.40am.

“Even the smallest detail could be vital to our investigation and identify those responsible.”

Anyone with information should email DS Pritchard at: [email protected] to pass on the details.

Information can also be submitted to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
