DROITWICH pair Rebecca and Matthew Redfern are preparing to represent Team England at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Rebecca will appear at her second Commonwealth Games after representing her county at the Birmingham 2022 edition.
She won gold at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games but has never claimed a Commonwealth Games medal in a glittering career in the pool.
Rebecca returns to the pool just four months after giving birth to her second child in March.
The 26-year-old visually impaired swimmer will race in the 50m freestyle event in Glasgow.
Rebecca joins her brother Matthew in a 14-strong Team England para swimming squad.
Both swimmers have the same degenerative eye condition known as retinitis pigmentosa.
Matthew won bronze on the World stage in 2022 after coming out of retirement and went on to appear at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Swim England head of sport and the Team England team leader for swimming and para-swimming, Richard Blackshaw, said: “The swimming team is immensely proud and excited to have the opportunity to represent Team England and the English swimming community at the Commonwealth Games, an honour that does not come around often for athletes.

“United by a common goal, the team is determined to represent Team England with distinction this summer, both in and out of the pool, and to showcase the strength, resilience and talent within English swimming.”
Team England chef de mission, Jonathon Riall, added: “It’s brilliant to be able to announce such a strong swimming squad for Glasgow 2026.
“We have a number of returning Commonwealth champions and true stars of the sport, alongside some new faces who are set to make their mark this summer.”
The Commonwealth Games takes place in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 2.
