DROITWICH swimmer Matt Richards is aiming to win his first Commonwealth Games medal in Glasgow this summer.
Richards will represent Wales at the 2026 Commonwealth Games and finished fourth on four occasions at the 2022 Games in Birmingham.
The 23-year-old is a double Olympic champion after winning freestyle relay gold at Paris 2024 and Tokyo 2020 for Great Britain.
Richards has also won three World Championship gold medals and four European Championship golds.
He claimed the British title at the 2026 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in the 100m and 200m freestyle.
Richards forms part of a 21-athlete Team Wales swimming squad.
Swim Wales performance director, Ross Nicholas said: “This selection represents the culmination of years of hard work and commitment from the athletes, coaches and support staff across the Welsh performance pathway.
“We are excited by the quality within this squad and are looking forward to watching their performances at Tollcross.
“Representing Wales at a Commonwealth Games is a special achievement and we know the athletes will wear the red dragon with pride.”

The Commonwealth Games take place in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 2.
