Wychbold Flower Club is looking for new members

WYCHBOLD Flower Club, which has now been going for 50 years, is looking for new members.

The club meets at 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of the month at Wychbold Sports and Social Club, De Wych Road, with next one on September 10.

Members’ latest project has been an arrangement by Lorna Hill entitled ‘Salt from Wychbold’ that represented the club at the Flower Power event at Worcester Cathedral.

The flowers were from Alan Prince, Hanbury, and private gardens and the salt crystals were kindly donated by Droitwich Salt at Churchfields in Salwarpe.

The event at the cathedral was aimed at promoting local gardening and floral organisations and to raise funds towards the costs of the beautiful fresh flowers arranged by the talented ladies of the Cathedral Flower Guild every week of the year.

Gillian Moody, chairman of Wychbold Flower Club and member of the Cathedral Flower Guild, said: “We are a small independent club meeting once a month.

“We have a demonstrator most months, an annual garden visit and a plant stall.”
