Brook Inn serves up free food and drink to NHS workers

A POPULAR pub brought some cheer to hard pressed NHS workers last Friday by offering them a free takeaway meal and drink.

The offer came from The Brook Inn at Ham Green on Sillins Lane between Redditch and Hanbury.

Jade Giles, who’s brother Josh runs the pub, said: “We wanted to do something to help out all the NHS workers who are doing such a wonderful job at the moment.

“We wanted to give something back to them – we’ve all seen there isn’t an awful lot on the supermarket shelves and there’s nothing left when they come off shift.”

The pub recently launched a takeaway service so it could still offer meals to patrons and the ever changing menu can offer anything from fish and chips to burgers and chicken curry.

“A lot of people are coming in, placing an order for a meal then having a drink while it’s prepared,” said Jade.

“We’re taking each day as it comes and if this offer to NHS workers goes well we might hold another one for them in the future.”
