A COUNTY health worker has urged residents to join Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s heroes and the patients they look after by taking on the Worcester half marathon.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity exists to support the staff, patients and services at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
The charity has a limited number of places available for the Worcester half-marathon, and spaces available for those who fancy the shorter 10k route, which are taking place this year on Sunday, September 5.
Anyone who has secured their own place is also welcome to support Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity which aims to fund those added extras which improve the experience for everyone using or providing to enable them to provide the best possible care.
Joining them on the start line will be the Trust’s own Cath Allen, Occupational Health Nurse manager.
Cath is a keen runner and is using the Worcester 10k as part of her training for the London Marathon.
“I’m really looking forward to the Worcester 10k and can’t wait to raise money for our brilliant charity. I’m using this as part of my training for the London marathon, as I’m not quite ready to run a half marathon yet,” she said.
Each runner will receive a complimentary professional running vest, support from the charity team to help you reach your target, training hints and a goodie bag.
Runners are asked to commit to raising £250 in sponsorship, while those using their own ballot spot can set their own fund-raising target.
