Drivers urged to take care as Met Office forecasts snow across Worcestershire

Droitwich Editorial 31st Jan, 2019   0

PREPARATIONS are underway to tackle snow and ice across North Worcestershire after the Met Office issue a yellow warning, writes Louise Newton.

This week gritters have been spreading some of the 14,000 tonnes of salt stockpiled in Worcestershire across the county’s roads.

Snowfall is forecast throughout the UK this afternoon and will continue in the evening.

Jon Fraser of Worcestershire County Council Highways, said: “We’re expecting snow to reach Worcestershire later on this evening, with temperatures remaining cold over the next few days.

“We’d urge everyone to travel with caution, taking care as some routes across the county could be treacherous.”

Travel conditions tomorrow morning, Friday, February 1, could also be dangerous and drivers are advised to take care.
