THE PRIMROSE Hospice Lights of Love fund-raising campaign which gave people the chance to remember someone close to them over the festive season saw more than £30,000 donated to the cause and more cash is still coming in.

The charity said it was really pleased with how it was able to safely bring communities together for services in Bromsgrove and Redditch.

Donors were able to see their loved ones’ names around the beautiful Christmas trees.

Rebecca Stone, the Primrose Hospice’s fund-raising manager, said: “After us all experiencing the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. it was lovely to be able to bring our community together to remember our loved ones over the festive period.

“On behalf of Primrose Hospice and Family support I would like to thank everyone who donated to our campaign, your donations will help us to support more people living with life-limiting illnesses across north-east Worcestershire.”

The Primrose’s family support centre costs £3,500 to run for one day so the cash collected from Lights of Love will go along way towards providing much-needed support to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Rebecca also thanked Thomas Horton and Thomas Brothers who kindly sponsored the campaign.

Plans are already under way for the Lights of Love return later this year and a variety of other fund-raising activities have been organised.
