PARENTS across Worcestershire will find out today whether their child has made it into their first place secondary or high school.

Those with children due to start secondary or high school this September applied before October last year.

Last year, across Worcestershire, there were 6,015 applications – 130 more than the previous year.

And, according to the authority, nine out of every ten children were offered one of their preferred places – an increase to 96.1 per cent, compared to 94.8 per cent for those starting in 2019.

Those who do not get the school of their choice have a chance to appeal.

Parents of children due to start first, primary and middle school will find out whether they have their first choice on April 16.
