THE brilliant GlastonBeoley Music Festival is fast approaching and with nearly 50 bands in the line-up it promises to be a fantastic weekend of music and more.
And thanks to a new initiative there will even be a British Sign Language interpreter onsite for three of the acts, so even more people can enjoy what’s in store.
“They’ll be on the stage with the acts, it’s really cutting edge and will make us even more accessible for deaf people,” said GlastonBeoley director Debbie Joynes.
As always the festival, at The Portway ground of Birmingham Solihull RFC by junction 3 of the M42, will be in aid of charity with all sums raised going this year to support Touchstones and Libby May’s Little Angels.
“We’ll also be keeping a pot of money in reserve which we will be used for any deserving causes that approach us for small amounts,” said Debbie.
This year’s festival has headline sponsors city solicitors Shakespeare Martineau and Bromsgrove District Council’s Commercial Waste Service.
GlastonBeoley is renowned for its fans, Debbie admitting that the other year when she and her team had turned up early to clear all the litter away from the night before they found that festival-goers had been putting all their rubbish in the bins provided anyway so there was no rubbish left lying around.
“Obviously more sponsorship would be welcome and we are always on the look-out for support,” she said.
GlastonBeoley weekend – featuring two stages of music – is over Saturday and Sunday, June 18-19 and early bird tickets at just £15 per day, £25 for the weekend are still available at https://glastonbeoley.co.uk/ where visitors will also find a full list of the bands.
Anyone interested in joining the list of sponsors can contact the festival via their Facebook page.
