WORCESTERSHIRE Acute Hospitals Charity is urging supporters to take part in the national challenge to celebrate the life and legacy of Captain Sir Tom Moore.
Friday (April 3) would have been Captain Sir Tom Moore’s 101st birthday and marks the one-year anniversary of the extraordinary celebrations following the completion of the famous 100 lap challenge of his garden, that raised 38.9million for the NHS.
The charity which raises funds for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has set their own challenge and they need the people of Worcestershire to help make it happen.
It has been gifted an incredible digital painting of Captain Sir Tom Moore by Redditch artist Kevin Wills and are aiming to raise £1,000 through a special prize draw.
To complete Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity’s 100 Challenge,100 people need to enter the draw! Each ticket costs just £10 and a lucky individual will win the beautiful framed painting of the legendary fund-raiser.

Sophie Burt, head of fund-raising and community development for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity said: “Funds and awareness raised by Sir Captain Tom Moore last year really helped to establish our work as a charity.
“We’ve already seen the impact as it has helped us to provide well-being items and care packages for staff, as well as psychological support as they worked magnificently and tirelessly through one of the most challenging periods in the history of the NHS.
“The Captain Tom 100 competition offers our supporters of all ages and abilities the chance to raise crucial funds for the charity which supports our local hospitals, while celebrating Captain Tom’s generosity, hope, and his sense of fun and the chance to win a truly magnificent painting.”
Artist Kevin Willis, said: “Sir Captain Tom Moore inspired me to do this artwork, so I digitally painted him using my own technique picked up from my days of painting with acrylic and canvas.
“I feel everyone deserves a chance at owning one of the special prints and if they kindly donate to be in with a chance to winning one, it would continue what Sir Captain Tom Moore started by giving to our great NHS.”
Captain Tom’s daughter, Hannah Ingram-Moore, said: “We are so grateful for the incredible support we have received since my father started his record-breaking fund-raising walk and that his message of hope was shared with the world.
