Further success for young Droitwich fencer Joseph Kington

A YOUNG Droitwich fencer has recently won both the under tens foil and epees titles in his first epee competition, writes Gabriela Zdanko.

Joseph Kington earned the success at the Hereford and Worcester County Championships.

Earlier this year he also did well in the British Youth Competition qualifiers contest, winning the under tens’ regional foil and regional Sabre.

He managed to be seeded 29th in foil and 16th in Sabre for the national competition.




Joseph trains at the Droitwich Spa fencing club which meets between 7pm and 10pm every Tuesday.

Junior fencers are welcome to contact the club and arrange a taster session to see what the sport of fencing is like.


The club will running a a four-week adult beginners course for those over the age of 16 starting on September 11 for anyone wanting to give it a go or improve their fitness.
