SHOPPERS have expressed their shock at Droitwich’s M&CO clothes shop which closed its doors for good after trading on Monday.
One shopper on Twitter said she was in the store that day and had no idea it would be the last one.
Another added she placed an order at the weekend which was due to be dispatched to the town store and she had not yet received it.
The shop was one of the few remaining clothes stores in Droitwich and the next nearest M&Co is in Bromsgrove.
It has been described as ‘sad news’ and a ‘huge loss for the town’ by customers.
One added: “The staff were more like friends, always helpful, and they did so much fund-raising for Droitwich communities.”
The news comes as HSBC announced the closure of its Droitwich branch last week.
The Standard is still awaiting a response from M&CO.
