HSBC Droitwich branch closing for good

Droitwich Editorial 2nd Dec, 2022   0

DROITWICH was dealt a banking blow this week when HSBC announced it was closing its doors in Victoria Square on June, 4, 2023.

Figures show 514 personal and business customers used the branch in the last 12 month and 92% of customers are registered for telephone banking.

HSBC said it was a “difficult decision” to make but “retaining a sustainable Branch Network is extremely important to us, and we need to ensure it is fit for the future.”

Once closed, the next closest branch will be in Bromsgrove town centre – over 6miles away.

This may prove challenging and costly for some, including the elderly and vulnerable, to travel to.

The bank said that in their decision making they looked at the availability of alternative ways to bank for customers who live locally or travel to use the branch.

Customers are able to use the same banking services at any Post Office and the nearest branch in Bromsgrove.
