DROITWICH Spa moved just one point away from clinching the league title following a convincing 4-0 victory away at play-off hopefuls Stonehouse Town.

Spa produced a ruthless performance at Oldends Lane to inch closer to the title and a historic promotion to Step Five

Droitwich made the perfect start as Sauntson nodded in from a few yards out after Jordan Schofield kept out Dugmore’s initial header from Nathan Binner’s corner.

And Moss doubled the away side’s lead on 35 minutes after he raced onto a long ball and chipped the onrushing Schofield from outside the penalty area.

Andy Crowther’s side all but sealed the points on 58 minutes as Lewis Phillips sent Dugmore through and the latter produced a clinical finish into the bottom corner.

Spa added some gloss to the scoreline in injury time when substitute Fusco finished Josh Hurdman’s low ball in from the right at the back post as Spa netted their 100th league goal of the season.

The result leaves Droitwich 11 points clear at the top of the Hellenic League Division One table.

And the Saltmen require a single point from their remaining three league fixtures to secure the title.

Alternatively, Spa can also become champions if second-placed Redditch Borough drop points in their weekend fixture.
