THE NEW owner of Droitwich’s St Andrews Hotel and Spa has spoken about his ambitious plans for the venue.

Sunny Sanger from SARAM Hotels, which took over the venue in April last year, spoke to the Standard on Saturday at the official launch of the SARAM Sizzler – an Indian grill restaurant and bar.

Over recent months, the building has been transformed including the addition of a spa and further upgrades across the hotel.

The SARAM Sizzler is the latest next phase in the hotel’s commitment to enhancing what the town has to offer hospitality-wise.

Sunny said: “When we arrived, the hotel was dark, dingy and quiet – there were not many people here.

“As a group we had a vision and wanted to bring something new to Droitwich and make this the hotel for everyone.

“This hotel has potential and we knew we could do something different.”

A new meeting room, sports bar and fine dining has been added – along with the new Indian grill.

The company also added a dry spa and next year it plans to put in eight treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, hot tubs and more.

Sunny was full of praise for Droitwich as a town, adding ‘it too had a lot of potential’.

He spoke about the importance of creating new jobs by drawing footfall into Droitwich, supporting local businesses and boosting the town’s economy.

The Deputy Mayor of Droitwich, Coun Sue Brazier, was the special guest on the grill launch night and helped cut a celebratory cake.

There was also live entertainment, including fire eaters, who performed as guests sampled what the new grill had to offer.
