A FAMILY-run smokehouse in Droitwich has won the ‘best in region’ title a prestigious national competition for its famous beech wood smoked salmon.
Macneil’s Smokehouse fought off 12,634 other entrants in The Great Taste Golden Fork awards.
The salmon is smoked in a vintage Norwegian smoker which was inspired by producer Tony Macneil’s time working as a chef in Norway.
The salmon was awarded the best tasting product in the region at the Great Taste Golden Fork Dinner held on September 2 at the InterContinental Park Lane Hotel, London, where over 350 guests from the world of fine food gathered to hear the results of many months of rigorous judging.
