A FLURRY of festive activities await you at Twycross Zoo between now and Christmas, providing plenty of fun for families wanting to get into the spirit of the season.

The attraction already boasts loads to do but the Yuletide events add that little bit extra.

Father Christmas and his elves were all fantastic – as well as welcoming visitors and offering selfies, you could also enjoy storytime where Santa interacts wonderfully with the children, speaking to them about the tale and asking them questions.

Other seasonal additions included a Santa and Penguin encounter and donkey walk, Elf Show and Key Tree, festive face-painting and making eco-friendly sparkly reindeer food to sprinkle outside your home on Christmas Eve so the man in the big red suit and his fleet can find you that little bit easier.

Christmas at Twycross Zoo is a magical day guaranteed to give you photographs and memorable moments to take away.

With us all seemingly working harder and having less time to spend with those closest to us it is more important than ever to make the most of those hours we do have together and the event does just that.

And of course there is also everything else the zoo has to offer – from numerous play parks and soft play area to viewing amazing animals from all over the world.

Among them are the exotic – giraffes, rhinos, tigers, meerkats, lemurs, penguins and every kind of primate you can think of to donkeys and goats.

It’s also lots of fun to get up close and personal with the lorikeets and feed them nectar and the butterfly enclosure also has you walking around in wonderment at all the different varieties, many you may never have seen before.

As well as seeing all these creatures up close, it is also educational with plenty of informative boards detailing the animals, their habitats and their survival situations.

And on that subject by visiting Twycross Zoo you are helping with the conservation of these animals as many, without venues like this, may already be just a distant memory in picture form.

Christmas at Twycross Zoo continues on December 7, 8, 14, 15, 20, 12, 22, 23 and 24.

There is also a special ‘A Heroes’ Christmas’ offer where it is free for Armed Forces, emergency services and NHS staff between now and December 11.
