After overcoming the elements to complete their 2025 fixture list, Worcester Racecourse is looking forward to staging more exciting National Hunt action next year.

Having lost their final meeting in 2024 after the River Severn burst its banks, course officials went into this year concerned about inclement weather.

However, while the course has once again had more its fair share of rain, every fixture was completed. The final meeting was a costly one for the bookmakers.

The sportsbook attached to this anonymous bitcoin casino was inundated with wagers on champion jockey Sean Bowen’s rides on the day.

Bowen did not disappoint, recording four victories to leave crypto punters in clover. Trainers Olly Murphy (3) and Martin Keighley provided Bowen’s winners.

He finished as the top jockey for the season at Worcester with 18 victories from 68 rides, while Murphy was the leading trainer with 11 wins from 43 runners.

Course bosses have already confirmed the schedule for 2026, which features Ladies Day on June 6, Family Fun Day on August 23 and the Fixed Brush Series Final on September 25.

The highlight of the 2026 schedule is undoubtedly Ladies Day, which is one of the most eagerly-anticipated social events of the year in the region.

More than 9,000 people attended the meeting this year, which was graced by some welcome summer sunshine after intermittent showers earlier in the day.

The event featured the debut of a new Trackside Marquee, which offered guests an exclusive hospitality experience and the best views on course.

Featuring live entertainment and elegant dining options, the new facility elevated the Ladies Day experience to another level.

The meeting also featured a series of charitable activities which were designed to benefit St Richard’s Hospice. The facility provides invaluable care and support for people across Worcestershire.

The charity raised in excess of £24,000 on the day, highlighting the generosity of local people. St Richard’s Hospice relies heavily on donations to fund their services.

Ladies Day continued into the evening, with an Ultimate Take That tribute act and a high-energy DJ set delivering a memorable party to guests.

Family Fun Day and the Fixed Brush Series Finale were other standout events on this year’s calendar and both will be staged again in 2026.

The latter event is the culmination of a prestigious series of handicap hurdle races and had a whopping £70,000 prize pot up for grabs in September.

The Jonjo and AJ O’Neill-trained Don Virginia made all the running in the 2m 4f contest, before extending his advantage and powering clear down the home straight.

The 5-1 winner was well-backed by punters on the course, leaving bookies counting the cost of a result that put a sizeable dent into their profits.

Bettors will hope for more of the same when Worcester Racecourse gets its 2026 schedule underway with an evening meeting on Tuesday, May 5.
