AN EXHIBITION of 100 original paintings created by members of three art groups run by Droitwich artist Pam McGregor will take place between Thursday and Saturday, July 25 to 27, writes Roman Filkin.

The collection at Alvechurch Village Hall will also feature the entries and winning pictures from a competition organised by Kamal Khan who owns Bromsgrove’s Tutnall Hall nursing home.

Kamal set two themed challenges for the artists – pictures had to be based on the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing or the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

Entries were judged by staff of Tutnall Hall and Grosvenor House nursing home in Alvechurch, also owned by Kamal.

Among the artists are Dennis Hill (pictured) who is a member of the Bromsgrove Stroke Club art group.

The winner was Barnt Green-born Ali Collis who produced an evocative painting of the D-Day beaches.

Many of the paintings on display will be for sale.

Pam McGregor said: “The exhibition, which is in its seventh year, is getting very popular and over

the past few years has received some excellent reviews by visitors.

“The artists improve year by year and continue to impress me and those who come to view the exhibits.”

The exhibition is open from 10am to 6pm Thursday and Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturday. Entry is free.
