A TOTAL of 16 teams are now lacing up their boots for this weekend’s Droitwich Against Melanoma (DAM) Trophy walking football tournament being held in memory of proud monner Mike Hull.
The event – from 10am on Sunday, April 24, at The St Peter’s Cricket Pitch – will also feature a family fun day with raffle, bouncy castle, tombola, cake stall, barbecue, face painting and a tabletop sale.
For £10, people can take along their own tables to sell items, keeping the cash they make on the day.
Afternoon tea is available for £7 per person with takeaway boxes also available.
All the funds raised will be put towards buying a mole-mapping machine for Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital so it can be used by people right across the Midlands.
Mike lost his brave nine-year battle with melanoma on March 19 and the mole-mapping machine will be his legacy.
The fund-raising campaign is now up to almost £44,000 meaning just over £10,000 is now needed to pay for the machine, its installation and licences.
