1960s themed events at Droitwich's Gardeners Arms pub to 'bring back the good times'

PEOPLE can go back to the 1960s during a series of themed events being held at Droitwich’s Gardeners Arms pub.

With times getting harder, landlord Simon Berry his hoping to spread some happiness.

Dave Laine will be celebrating his long career in the entertainment world through the events, regressing to rekindle the spirit of a feelgood era which changed Britain.

The first show at 8pm next Friday, September 30, will feature music from popular bands from the time including The Beatles, The Searchers, The Shadows and Gerry and the Pacemakers.




A 1960s quiz night, also hosted by Dave, at 8pm on Wednesday, September 28, will enable trivia whizzes to test their knowledge of the decade.

And from Monday, September 26, to help with the cost-of-living crisis, a new ‘Mrs Keats affordable Homemade Light Bite Hotpots’ aimed at older people will be served all day for just £4.50.


Dave and his band The UK Bonds shared stages with many top acts, including The Moody Blues, The Tremeloes and the Mersey Beats.

He added he was looking forward to the Gardeners Arms events.

“There was a Brit beat boom and it really was a feelgood time.

“I played all the venues in Droitwich during the 1960s – the old Winter Gardens, the Chateau Impney, The Raven and more.”

Simon said: “It’s our time now to enjoy the past brining a smile as you reminisce the past and look forward to a easier future.”
