ALMOST £600 was raised for the Friends of Droitwich Spa Lido (FODSL) on Friday when a charity fashion show was held.

The cash, from the event hosted by the town’s M and Co, will support some of the activities at the unique salt-water pool.

In previous years funds have helped pay for picnic tables, deckchairs, pool fun items, such as canoes, float mats and zorbs as well as flower arrangements around the pool.

Nearly 20 amateur models strutted their stuff and displayed three sets of clothes for the audience.

In the interval a variety of drinks were available, which were included in the ticket price, the raffle prizes were given out and 2020 Lido calendars were on sale.

Suzi Wood, the chair of FODSL said “From feedback on the evening and the following day, it appeared that the fun event was well-received.”

“It was a ‘voluntary community team effort’ for a good cause.

“On behalf of FODSL I would like to thank M and Co for hosting the event, the Verger of St Nicholas Church for kindly loaning the chairs, Bourne Decorators for supplying a vehicle to transport chairs and Alex Daw for supplying and operating the lights and music.”

Suzi also thanked FODSL supporters and the local businesses who donated raffle prizes.
