24/7 opening at Wychbold McDonald's to provide Droitwich jobs boost

FIFTEEN new jobs have been created in Droitwich thanks to McDonalds opening its doors 24/7.

The restaurant’s franchisee Andy Critcher welcomed Worcestershire County Council’s decision to extend the hours of trading.

The McDonalds used to shut at 2am but will be able to keep serving around-the-clock on a year-long trial basis. The new employees will take the number of workers at the store to about 120.

Mr Critcher said: “We are pleased the local council has approved our application to extend opening hours at the Worcester Road restaurant which we will put in place from the end of this month.

“Extending the opening hours will create 15 additional jobs locally, and allow us to provide a convenient choice for our customers who are increasingly living outside of a nine-to-five routine.

“I understand the concerns of local residents but let me reassure them we want to continue to be a responsible, proactive neighbour within this community.

“Whatever our opening hours, we will work closely with anyone within the area who has concerns about the impact of our restaurant.”
