YOUNG PEOPLE from Droitwich Spa High School and staff raised £260 for Sport Relief.
Every pupil ran, walked, skipped or rolled around the school’s athletics track at least four times to gain house points and raise cash for the cause.
There was also a staff versus students Rowathon challenge every break and lunchtime to see who could row the furthest throughout the week.
It was a closely-fought contest and, despite a late surge by the year ten boys, the PE staff won by completing 77,658 to 74,703. Kris Lewis, the school’s head of PE, said: ‘We had a great week with staff and students all getting into the spirit of the event and showing that raising money cannot only be fun but can be good for you. “
She thanked ‘Coloursource’ of Bromsgrove which sponsored the event and provided free staff t-shirts.
