DROITWICH woman Charlotte Jauncey has lost an incredible seven stone, dropping from a size 22 to 24 to between a 12 and 14.
She lost a fabulous three-and-a-half stone to bring her into the healthy range and take her cholesterol down but was still having a difficult time with depression which impacted on her self-confidence.
She never gave up and continued to attend sessions in the Spa every week and shed the incredible amount.
She said: “I have never been this slim, even as a toddler.
“When I started out I never dreamt I’d be able to achieve all I have.
“Losing the weight has made such a big difference – it’s changed my life.
“My health is better, I have more energy and I’m much happier – shop over the internet!
“My mental health has also vastly improved, so much so, that with the support of my GP, I no longer take any medication for depression.”
Charlotte was voted by her fellow members to represent the group in the nationwide ‘Woman of the Year 2017’ competition, aimed at finding the most inspirational slimmers.
In October she was voted the winner of ‘Miss Slinky’ and in another Slimming World Competition.
Peggy Sowerby, Charlotte’s consultant who runs sessions at Witton Middle School every Wednesday, said: “We are incredibly proud of Charlotte and her achievements.
“She looks fabulous and the lifestyle choices she has made are amazing and she is a huge inspiration to everyone in our group and I hope she inspires other women – and men – to change their lives in the same way.”
Charlotte joined Slimming World after becoming increasingly unhappy with her size and was supported by her mum who has also shed five stone.
As the weight started to come off, Charlotte’s fitness improved and confidence grew.
She now enjoys regular walks and describes herself as an ‘outdoor person’.
Charlotte has stated “I park further away, to enable me to walk and enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle, although on holiday, I enjoy a more physical one, rather than sitting down in cafés!
“Since joining Slimming World, I have made such great progress that I was able to climb Mount Snowdon in North Wales though there are still many things I want to do now that I have lost so much weight, but, I think my favourite wish is to go horse riding on the beach, something I have never done as I have been unable to ride since I was younger.
“I really hope my weight loss can inspire other people to get started on their own journey and know that there’s a whole group of people waiting to support them every step of the way – especially at our friendly and welcoming group.”
The Droitwich Slimming World group is held every Wednesday at 5.15pm and again at 7.15pm at Witton Middle School and Saturdays at 8.45am and 10.45am at Droitwich Methodist Church, Worcester Road.
