A DISCUSSION on actor George Formby will be among the highlights at the next meeting of Salwarpe WI, writes Ryan Smith.
It will take place at Salwarpe Village Hall at 7.30pm on June 10 and members will also be in with a chance of winning ‘something beginning with F’.
New members will be able to join the skittles team and the book club, which is currently reading Chris Brookmyre’s award-winning crime thriller ‘The Black Widow.’
Last month’s meeting included a discussion on places which interested members and there was a show of support for addressing the decline of local bus services and the lack of smear tests among women aged between 25 to 29.
There were also details of future events such as a day at the Worcester races on September 16 and lunch at the Chateau Impney with Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson.
The WI is looking to build on last year’s successful centenary celebrations, which included afternoon tea at Hanbury Hall and visits to Stratford and Wightwick Manor.
