The Christmas season is a joyous time we can celebrate together in Droitwich Spa, as we look back on this year and look forward to the year ahead.
I would like to particularly extend our thanks and greetings to those who continue to look after us and keep us safe in the town – the emergency services and all those who will be looking after loved ones.
I can also reflect on the many wonderful people across our network of voluntary organisations who give their time and effort to bring cheer to those whose Christmas can be particularly difficult or lonely.
Eleanor, my consort, and I are honoured to have met so many inspiring people of all ages and from all backgrounds who strive to make our town a great place to live and work. We have also been delighted to be involved in the continued friendship with our twin towns of Bad Ems and Voiron.
2025 promises to be an exciting time for the town with the development of projects such as our Heritage Centre improvements and the plans to renovate the Lido moving forward.
As well as the hugely popular Band Concerts programme – now extended to 20 weeks- and the other regular events taking place in the town, we can look forward to taking part in the national VE Day celebrations in May and of course the inaugural Rik Mayall Comedy Festival in June – an event which has already attracted nationwide publicity.
May Christmas be a time of companionship and celebration for you and those you love and may the New Year bring you peace, good health and prosperity.
My consort Eleanor and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very happy 2025.
Coun Alex Sinton
Mayor of Droitwich Spa
