THE CHEFS were given a ‘well-deserved round of applause’ at the official opening of Droitwich’s new Vasaanti restaurant.

A celebration was held to mark the rebranding of the eatery at 69 High Street and the launch of a new menu.

Formerly the two-storey ‘Vishali’ in Queen Street, owner Shah Miah has made the move to expand and because the previous site was on two floors.

“It is much better for the elderly and people with disabilities.

“They don’t have to walk upstairs now and they can park closer to the restaurant.”

People visiting the Vishali can bring their own alcohol or soft drinks to have with their meal.

“It is good for my customers to save money on drinks.

“The feedback I have had at the new location has been really good.

“I’d like to thank all our customers for their support,” added Mr Miah.

The ribbon was cut at the opening by Mayor of Droitwich Spa Coun Bill Moy.

He said: “The place was packed, the hospitality was great and the food was fantastic.

“The chefs received great applause from everyone at the opening – it was very well deserved.

“It was a very enjoyable afternoon and I wish Mr Miah all the best with the restaurant.”
