Ambitious line-up announced for this year's Wychfest at Droitwich Rugby Club

DROITWICH Rugby Club has announced its line-up for a community focused festival which will take place on August 28 and 29.

Pop band The Hoosiers, who had hits in 2007 with ‘Goodbye Mr A’ and ‘Worried About Ray’ will headline Wychfest on Sunday night with an intimately stripped-back set and local favourites Skabucks will be belting out their Ska and 2-Tone on the Saturday night.

There will also be a host of emerging national talent, including Two Weeks In Nashville, Gathering of Strangers and Junction 7, along with comedy, food and a range of family entertainment

All proceeds from the event will be put towards Droitwich RFC’s community sports ground to maintain the facilities for generations to come.

Upgraded staging, lighting and sound will create an electric atmosphere for revellers and it is hoped it will build on last year’s sold-out 500-capacity socially distanced event.

Festival organiser Craig Browne from the club said: “Wychfest has really been a success for Droitwich Rugby Club and this year’s line up shows the clubs ambition to bring first class entertainment to the town, whilst not losing our community roots and continuing to support local artists.”
