Animal lovers urged to bring their pets to Droitwich church service

Droitwich Editorial 8th Jul, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016

A CHURCH service giving thanks for pets, similar to one made famous on The Vicar of Dibley, is being held in Droitwich next Sunday (July 19).

The Service of Thanksgiving for All Creatures Great & Small – Pets Warmly Invited To Attend – takes place at 10am at St Michaels Church in Salwarpe.

Those who go along are welcome to bring their pet or photographs of them to give thanks to God for animals, birds, fish and bugs.

Rev Bev Jameson, the team vicar for Droitwich Spa, Salwarpe and Hindlip with Martin Hussingtree, said: “It will be wonderful mayhem, please come along and if your pet is too timid (as my cat is) to be surrounded by so many wonderful animals, then bring a photo of them to church.”
