MORE than 2,000 visitors went along to the Jinney Ring Craft Centre for this year’s Animals R Magic extravaganza, writes Jacob McDonald.
The event raised £4,000 for The Cinnamon Trust and other animal charities.
A total of 30 local animal causes and several voluntary organisations gathered were able to raise awareness of their organisations as well as cash.
The event also featured a charity fun day and dog show.
The Fun Dog Show, organised by MBG Vets of Droitwich, was one of the most popular attractions with a record number of 100 entries this year.
The dog that came out on top was Shadow, the 19 year old ‘Judges’ Favourite’ and branded a real ‘golden oldie’.
Various events delighted the crowds including the demonstrations of agility from Dogs R U, Canicross, where dogs run cross country, by Canicross Worcestershire and thrilling gun dog displays from the Midwestern Gundog Society.
The audience got stuck in during the Severn Area Rescue Association’s event, as volunteers hid in the woods to be tracked by Dyno, who never fails to find his targets.
Amander Sunter, owner of the Jinney Ring, said “Animals R Magic is now in its sixth year and it’s a pleasure to host such a worthwhile event here.
“We are delighted that this year’s event has raised over £4,000 for The Cinnamon Trust and so much more for the local animal causes.”
A visitor on the day, Tracy Larvin, added: “What a great day out. So well organised, plenty of activities for the dogs, and all for a great cause.
“I’ll definitely be attending next year.”
