AN APPEAL has been launched for more on-call firefighters based at Droitwich Fire Station, writes Gabriela Zdanko.
On call firefighters must live or work within five minutes of their local fire station.
Recruits must be 18 or over and will earn between £1,684 and £2,246 per year as well extra for attending emergency call-outs and training.
Successful applicants will be able to gain and improve skills, such as first aid and problem solving.
Fully trained on-call fire fighters can earn up to £8,000-a-year.
Station Commander Phil Sanders said “Being an on-call firefighter is both challenging and extremely rewarding and provides a vital service to the community.”
