Appeal for plants for Covid Memorial Garden in Droitwich's St Mary's Churchyard

THE PLOT for the Covid Memorial Garden at Droitwich’s historic St Mary’s Chuchyard is being prepared and those behind it are appealing for people to donate plants.

The cross was created by Kevin Hyett, who is responsible for the churchyard’s upkeep.

Kevin said: “We are starting with a blank canvas so we can put in whatever plants or perennials people would like to see in there.

“It may be they have something special or personal to them.”

George Crump and Son funeral directors has donated a bird table and plaque and anything else people think would add to the memorial is welcome.

The garden will provide a space for people to visit, spend time for reflection and remember those close to them who have died during the coronavirus pandemic.
