AN APPLICATION for a premises licence to sell alcohol at Ombersley Court has been submitted to the local council on behalf of Mark Bevan, managing director of Gemini Hospitality Group (GHP).

The application which also requests permission to host performances of live music, play recorded music and offer late night refreshment was submitted to Wychavon District Council in March.

Ombersley Court, on Hold Fleet Road, Droitwich is now a private residence of local businessman Tim Hopkins who reportedly purchased the 18th century historic country house in 2017.

The building has undergone extensive renovations to restore its former beauty and was opened to the public in June 2022 for the first time in 300 years.

GHP, who are responsible for the organisation of events at the venue have confirmed they plan to host between 12 and 20 private events a year including family stays, corporate events and charity balls.

Events will be invitation only and ticketed.

The councils licencing committee will decide the outcome of the application at a committee meeting on April 12.
