BBC Midlands Today’s Beccy Wood has revealed the final amount raised from her epic Sport Relief challenge, which finished in Droitwich last Friday.

Beccy, accompanied by BBC WM’s Richie Anderson, raised £14,875.09, all for Sport Relief in their ‘Peaky Pentathlon’.

It was a gruelling five day, 125-mile walk along the canals of the West Midlands, dressed in the style of Midlands gangsters the Peaky Blinders.

The pair walked from Market Drayton in Shropshire, to Vines Park in Droitwich, clocking up over 190,000 steps and a case of tendonitis in the process.

At each destination the pair carried out various special challenges, inspired by the location.

The presenter tweeted a picture of some Droitwich salt, given to her as a reward for completing the challenge, saying “Can’t wait to open this! Thank you Droitwich Spa!”

The two were joined on their odyssey by a host of other famous faces including Olympic Gymnastics medallist Kristian Thomas, Celebrity Chef Glynn Purnell and BBC Midlands Today’s Nick Owen.

In total, Sport Relief 2018 raised £38,195,278 nationwide to help vulnerable people across the UK.
