A CHANCE for residents to meet their councillor in Bredon Hill has been cancelled due to re-election restrictions.
The meet your Bredon Hill councillor event was scheduled for 2pm tomorrow (Saturday, May 25).
The event has been axed after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called a snap general election, set to take place on July 4.
A general election announcement was a shock to the public due to initial reports suggesting the Conservative government were planning to wait until tat least the Autumn to call one.
The upcoming July 4 parliamentary vote is the first time an election has been called in the summer since 1945.
Currently Labour are 20 points ahead in the polls.
