THERE was a bumper turn-out for Rev Bev Jameson’s final Messy Church on Saturday.

There were more than 60 children and over 150 people in total at the event at St Andrews Church.

The event also marked the second anniversary of Droitwich Messy Church, featuring a variety of activities, including making birthday badges, funny face cupcakes and ice cream magnets, songs, a short talk and a free lunch.

Rev Bev’s final event is the Harvest Service which takes place at 3pm this Sunday, September 24.

People are being asked to take dry and tinned goods which will be donated to Droitwich Foodbank.

There will be crafts and games during what will be a lively informal service suitable for all ages but with children very much in mind.

Rev Bev said “Harvest is such a wonderful service and it will be very special to me as it will be may last service in the parish with people I love very much.”

There will be a farewell party afterwards with prosecco, tea coffee and cake in the Parish Centre to wish Rev Bev all the best for the future.

Rev Bev will leave her role as Team Vicar Droitwich Spa, Salwarpe and Hindlip with Martin Hussingtree Dean of Women’s Ministry Diocese of Worcester to become the Rector of St Mary the Virgin in Lymm, Cheshire.
