Butterfly, moth and flower-themed names revealed for the road names on Droitwich's Yew Tree Hill development

A LIST of 20 road names for the new Woodland Way development off Pulley Lane in Droitwich was refined by councillors at Monday’s town council meeting.

Coun Jan Bolton and Coun Bob Brookes decided because of the woodland theme surrounding the Taylor Wimpey build, names of butterflies, moths and flowers should be used.

Members discussed the names and the ones decided for road names were Swallowtail, Admiral, Gatekeeper, Skipper, Grayling, Monach, Brimstone, Hairstreak and Tortoiseshell (butterflies and moths).

And Bluebell, Foxglove, Snowdrop, Primrose, Cowslip, Columbine, Kingcup, Teasel Oxlip, Clover and Fuchsia (flowers).

Names, such as ‘road’, ‘avenue’, ‘drive’, ‘street’ and ‘way’ would then be added to the chosen names.
