Cash boost available for green community projects in Droitwich

Droitwich Editorial 9th Dec, 2023   0

COMMUNITY groups, parish councils and heritage organisations can claim a cash boost of up to £25,000 to support projects making a difference in their community.

The latest round of the Wychavon Rural Fund will stump up the cash for projects introducing measures to cut carbon emissions, such as installing EV charging points or energy efficiency measures in community buildings.Other acceptable projects include ones that improve or develop new green spaces or play areas and measures to improve footpaths or encourage cycling.

Cash is also available to support the development of cultural, heritage and tourism assets such as museums, arts venues, exhibition centres, theatres, libraries and film facilities.

Funding can only be used for capital projects – money which is spent on physical things such as buildings and infrastructure – and not to support staff costs or day-to-day spending.

Expressions of interest need to be submitted by January 5, with those chosen to go onto the next stage asked to submit a full application.

Visit www.wychavon.gov.uk/rural-fund to make an expression of interest or for more information.
