IT was celebration time at St Peter’s Droitwich CofE Academy last week as it honoured the past and looked towards the future on its 40th birthday.
Children and their families enjoyed a morning of celebration on June 29 to mark the big day, with activities including a big draw and plenty of games.
The youngsters danced the morning away before sitting down for a whole school picnic.
In the afternoon children and staff attended a special service at St Peter’s
Church, where they sang and heard a birthday message from the Bishop of Dudley, Rev Martin Gorick.
The Bishop blessed the school upon its opening 40 years ago.
And school headteacher Tracey O’Keeffe-Pullan has hidden away a special birthday time capsule within the school.
The time capsule, which contains a school jumper, prospectus and order of service, won’t be reopened until 2063.
