STAFF and children at Phoenix Nursery at Gaudet Luce Golf Glub in Droitwich are celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted.
Inspectors praised the setting, describing children as ‘extremely confident, self-assured and adding they had settled comfortably’.
They added: “The children explore, investigate, and become completely immersed in play and learning.”
And they said the outcome was down to the dedication of leaders and staff who had a thorough knowledge on appropriate teaching styles, safeguarding procedures and protecting children.
The nursery said its curriculum was suitably planned and sequenced to reflect all seven areas of learning and it has created motivated, ambitious and active learners.
The report also highlighted a strong focus on the importance of understanding emotional wellbeing through interactive activities such as circle time so the children recognised their thoughts and feelings.
For additional needs, assigned staff provide any required service, although the option of advice and guidance provided by other professionals is embedded into daily practice.
Childcare manager Libby Laing and Fiona Andrews, acting nursery manager, said: “We are over the moon to be awarded an outstanding Ofsted rating.
“We feel it is a true reflection of the continuous hard work and dedication all of our staff .“
