MORE than 100 players took place in a charity day held at Droitwich’s Gaudet Luce Golf Club, raising £1,200 for the RNLI.
Members chose the lifeboat charity to raise awareness of the invaluable service it provides, as well as collecting cash for the cause.
The charity day was organised in memory of former member Roy Orchard.
A friendly, but competitive, game was held at the Phoenix course and players regrouped for refreshments in the clubhouse afterwards.
At the awards ceremony W Furber, M Furkner and D Topman of Kings Norton Golf Club were presented with their awards.
Kings Norton Golf Club also took second place with runners up being M Furber, C Hobson and R Minor.
Gaudet Luce’s own M Siddle, N Higgins and B Glynn were congratulated on taking third place.
To support the fund-raising, raffle tickets were sold for an abundance of great prizes including gym sessions, art, chocolates and even a private flight.
Gaudet Luce wants to thank members, visitors and local businesses for their charitable donations.
On site was also a RNLI merchandising stall ran by the Ladies Lifeboat Guild.
The £1,200 total was generated by green fees and donations and will be used to save lives at sea.
