HE CHARITY row held in Droitwich has raised an ‘oarsome’ £3,741.44, smashing its £2,500 fund-raising target for St Richard’s Hospice.
The 24-hour indoor row in aid of St Richard’s Hospice was organised by Shaun Hooper and Clive Sanders at Sanders Fitness at the town’s Gaudet Luce Golf complex.
They were joined by people popping in to row some miles and the team managed to notch up 241,382metres between them – the equivalent of 150miles or three cross-channel Dover to Calais journeys.
Clive, Shaun, Lindsay and Lesley, aka Team Sanders Fitness, said: “Thank you to everyone that popped into the gym and supported them, to everyone that rowed with them, those who watched our live feed, people who sent messages and finally to everyone who has so generously donated.”
