A TALK on ‘The Assembling then Dismemberment of the Chateau Deer Park – 1845 to 2000’ is the subject of a talk in Droitwich next month.

The presentation by Alan Baker, part of the Droitwich History and Archaeology Society’s 2023 programme, takes place at 7.30pm on February 1 at the John Corbett Room, Droitwich Community Hall, Heritage Way.

Society member Alan lived for many years beside the Chateau Impney and its park and saw many changes.

Wanting to know more, he researched how the estate changed from 1845 when the Tithe Map was made until modern times.

Information he has gleaned is the basis for his illustrated talk.

Not only will there be details of the earlier owners and how the land was used, but the changes in ownership over time, including when Salt King John Corbett built the Chateau Impney, to more recent times when the grounds were used for the famous Hill Climb.

It is a timely talk as ambitious plans for Impney Hall and the reinstatement of its parkland were revealed early in 2022 and went through the planning process late last year.

Everyone is welcome to the talk – admission is £3 for members and £5 for visitors and guests.
