CHILDREN and staff at Droitwich’s Chawson First School will bid a fond farewell this week to respected teaching assistant Trudy Purser who is retiring after 28 years at the school.

Mrs Purser said working at Chawson had been a ‘delight’.

“It is such a happy and friendly school with a real community feel. I feel privileged to have supported so many children and families over the years and, along with the dedicated staff, I will miss them all greatly.”

Headteacher Helen Wallace said: “Everybody here at Chawson is going to miss Mrs Purser – she has touched all of our lives in so many different ways.

“She has always put the interests if the children first and has been so supportive of everyone.”
