Wonky Map of Droitwich unveiled at the town's railway station

A ‘WONKY MAP’ of Droitwich created by a prominent local artist is now pride of place at the town’s railway station.

The hand drawn map, featuring notable Droitwich landmarks including the Lido, Chateau Impney, Droitwich Canal, Victoria Square, The Raven Hotel and more was created by Rosie Philpott.

It is created in her signature style which could be said to draw inspiration from cartoons and surrealism art.

The piece, commissioned by Friends of Droitwich Spa Railway Station, is located on the rear wall of the station’s ticket office. There are also two smaller versions located inside the shelters on platform 2.

Rosie Philpott thanked the community group on social media for commissioning the piece.

Friends of Droitwich Spa Railway Station said the artwork ‘looks marvelous’ and they hope people will like it.

The artist received a Wychavon Community Recognition Award for her work and is currently the Artist in Residence at St. Peter’s Primary School in Droitwich, as well as an active member and secretary of Droitwich Arts Network.
