Children remind grown-ups to Switch It Off

Droitwich Editorial 8th Jan, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

WHILE some were switching on their festive lights Droitwich pupils were celebrating National Energy Week by turning theirs off.

Youngsters from St Peter’s C of E First School, on Church Lane, have been spending their time doing tally charts to show how many times their grown-ups Switch It Off.

The children will also be signing a class pledge to show their support in saving energy not only in school but at home too.

Catherine Baldwin, class teacher and eco co-ordinator, said: “Every year we have a Switch It Off focus, all our children are involved even our youngest in the Foundation Unit.

“Very often it seems, it’s our grown-ups which need the reminding.

“However, our children are very supportive to their class teachers, especially as they may be rewarded with stickers and house points.”
