Classic cars parade through Droitwich for charity event

NEARLY 100 classic and coveted cars paraded through Droitwich for the national Autoriase Rally charity fundraiser at 10.15am on Wednesday (September 21).

The cars started in Stratford and made their way down Hanbury Road, through Vines Park and into Ombersley.

Pete Bourne, a retired worker from Landrover, and a classic car lover, came to Vines Park to view the procession.

He said: “I love cars, and I saw the event on Facebook and thought I must see what cars come past.”

The event, which goes over the course of three days, started today started at Caffeine and the Machine, and will eventually lead to a tour around Wales.

Droitwich was one of the many towns the cars are set to pass through on their journey.

Another spectator, Barry Englefield, said: “I think it is a great thing and loads of people love to see classic cars.”

Autoraise usually hosts the event yearly, but due to Covid had to postpone the rally for two years.

The charity helps promote a range of technical apprenticeships to help bring young people into the vehicle repair industry.
