CHILDREN in year two at Wychbold First and Nursery School have shown their environmental credentials and have all been rewarded with ‘Green’ Blue Peter badges.
The pupils were challenged to become climate heroes and the ‘all things green’ topic fitted in with their studies.
The children made pledges, including swapping screen time for outdoor activities, turning lights off when leaving rooms, planting bee-friendly flowers, switching from plastic food bags to lunch boxes and sorting out the recycling at home.
During the designated fortnight, they all kept records of their achievements on the school’s interactive learning log and this week were all awarded with their badges.
One pupil, Grace Tolley, seven, said: “Being more environmentally friendly was easier than we thought.”
The paperwork sent with the badges detailed the other awards and Grace and her classmates are now getting ready to achieve their next ones.
